Overview:
The Oregon Sheep Growers Association (OSGA) provides a scholarship of up to $1,500.00 to support students pursuing education in agriculture-related fields and to encourage involvement in Oregon’s sheep industry. Funds are intended to help cover direct educational costs, including tuition, textbooks, and academic fees.
Eligibility:
- Must be a resident of Oregon. Attendance at an Oregon college or university is not required.
- Must have completed at least one year of college (sophomore standing or higher).
- Must be enrolled in, or planning to pursue, an agriculture-related major, agricultural sciences, or pre-veterinary medicine, and demonstrate a career interest in the sheep industry.
- Applications for the upcoming academic year must be received by OSGA by July 15 of the current year.
Application materials:
Submit the cover sheet along with:
- A personal essay outlining your career plans and long-term goals.
- An official transcript showing all college coursework completed to date.
- Two letters of recommendation.
Selection and award:
A committee will review applications and choose the recipient. The scholarship will be presented in the fall. The award check will be issued jointly to the recipient and the educational institution the recipient is attending.
