Tennessee Scholarships for High School and College Students

The award is $6,000 per academic year, $3,000 from the State of Tennessee and $3,000 from the college or university attended. The institutional match may be a campus-based award already included in the student’s financial aid package as long as it does not contain a work or service obligation. Awards are made in equal installments each term throughout the academic year. The Gail Clay Scholarship Fund was established by friends of Gail Clay as a tribute to her outstanding career as Director of the Carolyn P. Brown University Center at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. This scholarship is intended for a spouse or child of a full-time, non-exempt employee of the University of Tennessee or other state-supported, public, higher education institution located in East Tennessee Foundation’s 25-county region. TGEF scholarships are open to high school seniors, college undergraduate, and graduate students who are employees or the dependents of employees of a TGCSA member company. Student employees must have been employed for at least six months, and parent employees must have been employed for at least two years as of January 1, 2025.
