Johnson County Education Growth Scholarship

Purpose and background
The Johnson County Education Growth Scholarship was created in 2002 through a gift from the Levi Strauss Foundation, augmented by contributions from Johnson County businesses, banks, individual donors, and the Johnson County Community Foundation. The fund’s mission is to offer financial assistance to residents of Johnson County, Tennessee who are beginning their college studies.
Award amount
Recipients receive $1,200 per year for up to two years.
Who may apply and how to apply
This scholarship is intended for new college students — either graduating high school seniors or adults preparing to start college — who have been continuous residents of Johnson County, Tennessee for at least 12 months. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, demonstrate financial need, and plan to enroll as full-time college students.
To be considered for this and other awards administered through the region, submit the East Tennessee Foundation Common Application between December 15 and March 15.
