HMW Law Against All Odds Scholarship

Overview
HMW Law is accepting submissions from undergraduate and graduate students for the Against All Odds Scholarship. One winner will receive $2,500. Entries must be submitted by November 15, 2025. Applicants should prepare and upload a short video that addresses the scholarship topic for review by the selection committee.
Who may apply (Eligibility)
To be considered, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Be enrolled in or accepted to an accredited college, university, or graduate program in the United States.
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of enrollment.
- Be a U.S. resident.
- Be in good academic standing.
- Provide basic personal and academic contact information on the application form.
- Produce a video responding to the scholarship prompt.
Application requirements
HMW Law welcomes students from any major to apply, but applicants must indicate they identify with an underrepresented demographic and describe obstacles they have overcome that could have impeded their long-term success. In addition, applicants must:
- Confirm enrollment or acceptance at an accredited U.S. institution.
- Agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions.
- Complete the application form and submit the required video.
Video submission details
Applicants are required to submit a 2–3 minute video (maximum 3 minutes) addressing the scholarship topic. Upload the video to YouTube as an unlisted video and include the link when completing the scholarship form on this page.
Scholarship video prompt
In your video, explain your personal journey and how you have navigated financial hardship, limited educational opportunities, or systemic barriers. Consider discussing:
- The community in which you were raised.
- Your future goals and ambitions.
- Specific challenges that stood in the way of those goals.
- The actions you took to overcome those obstacles and how those experiences shaped your aspirations.
Who is not eligible
The following individuals are excluded from applying:
- Employees of HMW Law and their children.
- Previous recipients of the Against All Odds Scholarship.
- Applicants unwilling or unable to be interviewed by an HMW Law representative if selected for an award.
- Applicants who submit the same video for other scholarships or reuse the same video in multiple years.
