James K. Goldston Cybersecurity Scholarship

Overview and background
Founded in 2006 by the family of James K. Goldston, this scholarship was created to help Tennessee students pursue undergraduate coursework in computer engineering, computer science, cyber science, or cybersecurity at a Tennessee four-year institution or community college.
Award amount
One-time award of $2,000.
Who may apply
- Students who are enrolled, or plan to enroll, in a computer-related undergraduate program at a college or university in Tennessee.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens, carry a minimum 2.5 GPA, be enrolled full-time, and demonstrate financial need.
- While all students with an interest in cybersecurity are encouraged to apply, preference is given to those participating in an NSA National Center for Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity program at one of the following Tennessee schools: Jackson State Community College, LeMoyne-Owen College, Roane State Community College, Tennessee Technological University, University of Memphis, or University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

- The scholarship is awarded for one academic year. Recipients may submit a new application in subsequent years.
- To determine eligibility for this and other scholarships administered by the East Tennessee Foundation, complete the East Tennessee Foundation Common Application between December 15 and March 15.
