Marching Band Scholarships
Scholarship Sponsored by Music for All
Music for All Foundation invests in emerging music teachers and leaders. These scholarships honor graduating high school seniors who show exceptional promise to continue bringing music’s benefits to classrooms and communities. By helping launch the careers of future educators, the Foundation aims to preserve music’s capacity to inspire, unite, and change lives.
Available awards
- Fred J. Miller Family Scholarship — $2,000
- Yamaha Corporation of America Scholarship — $1,000
- Fred J. Miller Memorial Music Education Scholarship — $1,000
Who may apply
Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who meet all of the following:
- Intend to pursue a college degree in music education
- Exhibit strong musicianship, leadership, and a solid work ethic
- Plan to enroll in a college or university within one year of high school graduation
- Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
- Participate as a performer at a 2025 Bands of America Regional, Super Regional, or Grand National Championship
Required application materials
Each candidate must submit the following:
- A résumé detailing musical accomplishments, leadership roles, academic highlights, extracurricular activities, and community service
- An essay of 500–750 words that addresses both:
- The people or experiences that inspired you to pursue music education
- The qualities you believe are essential for a successful music educator and specific ways you demonstrate those traits
- A letter of recommendation from your band director
